FAQ/Info

I first created this blog on Tumblr in early 2011 (it was previously located at robinsrecipes.tumblr.com).

Frequently asked questions:

Do you take requests for recipes?
No. To be honest, this blog is a fun "side" hobby for me - I'm currently taking college classes and working part-time. I want to be enthusiastic about the recipes I am sharing, rather than posting them out of obligation.

Will you try my recipe and post a review/your thoughts?
No. I might occasionally post recipes from family members, but generally, I prefer to keep this a collection of my recipes and some of my husband's. This is because recipes can be special and sentimental to some people. I may make a seemingly trivial change or mistake, while preparing the dish, that creates a noticeable difference and does not show your recipe with the same "spirit".

Why are you a semi-vegetarian? What do you mean by that?
I follow a vegetarian diet most of the time. I still eat some meals with fish, chicken, and occasionally pork. I first tried this in 2009 and began to feel more energetic and healthy.

Why don't you post calorie information and serving sizes for your recipes?
Because the calorie information can change depending on what brands and varieties of ingredients you are using. For example, I like to use low-sodium soy sauce, light butter, and 1% milk, but you may not. Also, I have readers in other countries, or other parts of the USA, where some of the brands I use cannot be purchased.

As for serving sizes, they're difficult to judge because of personal preferences. In the past I have tried recipes from books/other websites that claimed they would serve four to six people - yet there was barely enough, when prepared, for two or three to eat.
